Maison JaJa Presents New Medea Collection S/S19, RECAP
Maison JaJa is a performance fashion house in the form of a pop-up store. The purpose of Maison JaJa is to bring back dowry making processes in relation to the customer’s personal needs and histories. New Medea is a collection of handbags sparked by eleven interviews with elderly Greek women and men on the dowry exchange traditions of their regions in Greece. During FLAM VIII, the Maison JaJa pop-up will be on view, hosted by a selection of artists during opening hours.

Bio
Dionisios Argyropoulos Ioannou (1994, Athens) graduated in Fine Arts at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in 2018. As a performer he has created works for clubs and theatrical venues and initiated the bi-monthly performance platform for students, Stage. He is part of the drag family House of Hopelezz, there creating both solo and group shows. Dionisios' earlier background in fashion and music has strongly influenced his current practice. Previous works of him have been presented at Lost & Found, Unfair Amsterdam, Paradiso and SSBA.
