Travesti Biológica is a multimedia project by Mavi Veloso consisting of live performance, music and video. It's an eclectic mix of pop, contemporary R&B, hip hop, trap, electropop, synth pop, dance, tecnobrega and reggaeton. The transgenre pop album celebrates the beauty of trans and non-binary bodies, the struggles, resilience and empowerment.
Travesti Biológica live act features Mavi Veloso & Pauli Scharlach performing with the sound artist Urubu Marinka.
Bio
Born in Brazil and based in the Netherlands, Mavi Veloso likes to do tranny-crafts confusing, questioning and enlightening our minds while we dance. She is a transdisciplinary artist working in the fields of music, performance, theatre, dance and visual arts. Graduated in arts at State University of Londrina, Paraná, Brazil in 2009. Continued studies in performativity with COMO clube artist platform, São Paulo (2011-2014). Did a Post master in performance at A.PASS (Advanced Performance And Scenography Studies 2014-2016) in Brussels, Belgium. Master of Voice at Sandberg Instituut in Amsterdam. Released songs with Hystereofônica, Tropical Twista Records and Anunak, BicudaRec and her work has been presented in venues and festivals including the Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven, Kampnagel in Hamburg, Kunstenfestivaldesarts at Kanal Centre Pompidou Brussels, Les Urbaines in Lausanne, 31st Biennial of São Paulo.
